Dear Captains, Players, and Community Members, everyone
We officially started the next season of the Corporate Charity Championships. With registrations now closed (for most games), I am happy to report that we raised more than $19,000 for charity this season! Over 110 teams will come together over the next few months to compete for a chance to donate these funds to their charity of choice. I can’t thank you enough for your contributions. As always, 100% of your entry fees went into the donation pool and without you, this league wouldn’t be able to support all these amazing charities.
I also want to extend a special thank-you to the countless volunteers ( @Administrator, @Game Lead, @Engineering) who are pouring their heart and soul into this organization to make these competitions happen. As you all know, the CEA is entirely volunteer-run, and we benefit from the expertise of many industry professionals who help make our events great.
Although the CEA is run by volunteers, there are still fixed costs necessary to keep things running. As some of you may know, the CEA not only runs the CCC but also hosts internal employee engagement events. These events help us continue running the CCC without taking a percentage of registration fees to cover expenses. So, as a quick and shameless plug—next time you’re looking for an elevated gaming happy hour, internal rumble tournaments, organizing gaming book clubs, or even gaming-driven programming at your company, think of us here at the CEA! We’d be more than happy to coordinate with you to run your next amazing programs.
There are many exciting things coming up later this season, like CEA and team merchandise (oh yes, you read this right!), CEA Winter Games, upcoming collaborations, and much more — but I’ll save those for another day.
Until then, be sure to join the CEA Discord community and say hi to your Game Leads and fellow gamers.
Best of luck in the upcoming season!
