You can register for the tournament directly by clicking here, but we encourage you to read to the end. 🙂
In partnership with our title sponsor Guilded and incredible support from Tobi @ Shopify, the CEA is proud to announce the Collegiate Series. The Collegiate Series will carry on the spirit of TESPA and offer an all levels outlet of competition for those fighting it out with their academic careers.
Students will be able to compete for school pride and scholarships. Integrating with the existing Championship Series, the CEA will be able to offer competitors a unique and natural networking opportunity with industry experts.
Requirements
To compete in the CEA Collegiate Series, players must be full time students in good standing with an active school email at an institution in the United States or Canada. Outside of verifiable enrollment in an accredited academic institution, all levels of player are welcomed!
Format
The inaugural season will be run as an individual Swiss-format competition with best of 5 sets, and the top 16 players moving onto a single elimination playoff bracket.
Players will also earn points for their school that will go towards a trophy to show off back at their home base, giving all levels of players the ability to contribute and compete for school pride.
Schedule
Matches are played once per week at default time of Saturday 2:00 PM Pacific, but can be rescheduled to any time before Sunday, 6:00 PM Pacific. Matches will be periodically rescheduled to avoid conflicts with other Starcraft 2 esports events at the same time.

Feb 29 – Registration Closes and Season Kickoff
April 18 – Playoffs Begin
May 9 – Finals and Season End
Broadcast
The CEA will be working with Ravi “feardragon” Pareek and community casters to provide coverage throughout the season. Broadcasts will be simulcast with matches at Saturday 2pm Pacific time.
Prizing
The top 3 placing players will receive scholarships in the following amounts:
1st: $15,000.00
2nd: $7,500.00
3rd: $2,500.00
Update: February 12th, 2020 @ 6:15 PST – We received some feedback regarding a top heavy prize structure. While we’ve intentionally designed this particular event to offer a small number of impactful scholarship prizes, we reached into our CEA piggy banks and found some additional prizing to offer to our top 16 players. The additional prize breakdown is as follows:
4th – $1,000.00
5th to 8th – $250.00
9th to 16th – $100.00
Additionally, the highest scoring school overall will take home a trophy to commemorate their success.

And of course, the CEA is looking to connect its member companies with students, many of whom are actively seeking career advice and employment post-college. If your company is interested in partnering with us, please don’t hesitate to reach out on Discord, Guilded, or email at [email protected]
